This specimen was lot 23693 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $528. The catalog description noted, "SPAIN. 4 Reales, 1590-G F. Granada Mint. Philip II. PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield. A beautiful cob, preserved in remarkable condition for its age, with a bold strike that ensures a crisp date and old-time toned surfaces that hold instances of rainbow-hued iridescent tone within the recesses of the reverse cross design. A coin that certainly merits strong competition for type ownership as such." This four reales is listed as common. It was struck at Granada 1590-98.
