(Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus III (1763-1806), silver thaler of 1776, Dresden mint. Cleaned, scratched, very fine to extremely fine.)"This type is listed in the SCWC for 1769-79 and is common in grades up to extremely fine. It was struck simultaneously with a mining thaler (Dav-2691). Friedrich August III did not pursue the Polish adventures of his ancestors and prosperity began to return to Saxony.
