This specimen was lot 21521 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description noted, "RUSSIA. 20 Kopeks, 1927. PCGS PROOF-65 Secure Holder. Not listed as proof for this year in Krause. VERY RARE. When searching auction records we were unable to locate a recent sales of a proof 20 Kopeks, but found several records of other denominations of the same year. This would suggest that the 20 Kopeks is a much more elusive denomination. Sharply struck with hard flashy surfaces slightly subdued with light attractive tone." This type of 1924-31 is the last of this denomination struck in silver.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.6 g, .500 fine silver, 22 mm diameter.
