This specimen was lot 21374 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 2,000 Reis, 1713-P. Porto Mint. Joao V (1706-50). NGC MS-65. Finest certified of the type at either NGC or PCGS. RARE in this state of preservation. A gem by all means and a magnificent example with soft satiny surfaces which highlight the devices. One would be hard pressed to find a better quality example of this type." This scarce type was struck in Lisbon 1707-22 and in Porto 1712-14 but ceased thereafter. The moidore instead became a familiar coin of Brazil.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 10.76 g, .917 fine gold, 30 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: Fr-96; KM-195; Gomes-J595.01.
