Poland 1925 5 zlotych Dav-250
This specimen was lot 25491 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $4,112.50. The catalog description noted, "Republic 5 Zlotych 1925, AU55 NGC, type with 81 pearls, silvery-gray surfaces with light contact marks, rare and highly popular Constitution commemorative." This commemorative honors the adoption of a new constitution. Varieties exist with 100 and 81 pearls on the reverse and with and without engraver's monogram by the date. The SCWC also lists specimens in gold and bronze. All are rare. Subsequent five zlotych pieces were 18 grams, .750 fine silver.
Recorded mintage: about 2,100 in silver plus a few in bronze and gold.
