Peru 1874 quinto sol rev DSLR.jpg

This quinto sol was struck 1863-69 and 1874-75 in Lima, Peru. Most dates are readily available including this one. For this date, the SCWC lists an overassayer, YJ/YB. A later type, with a slightly different figure of seated Liberty, was struck 1888-1917 (KM 205). The type was replaced by a copper-nickel twenty centavos in 1918.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM 191.
