Paraguay 1978 guarani rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen is the first coin issued by Paraguay as part of the F.A.O. series. Few South American countries issued F.A.O. coins but Paraguay issued a number of one, five and ten guaranies for F.A.O. in the 1978-88 period. Paraguay has fought numerous wars with her neighbors, most recently with Bolivia in 1935, hence the soldier on the obverse. This type was struck 1978-1988. All the dates are listed as common.

Recorded mintage: 15,000,000.

Specification: 2.6 g, stainless steel.

Catalog reference: KM 165.
