PCGS PROOF-64 Cameo Gold Shield. A stunning coin, EXTREMELY RARE in this presentation quality, with strong mirror-like qualities in the fields and evident frost on the raised designs. The only Proof of this date thus far certified by PCGS or NGC and sure to pique collector interest as such." This type was struck 1910-20, 1928-30.The Dutch hold on the East Indies in the early nineteenth century was weak and the British captured Batavia more than once during the Napoleonic Wars. Dutch control was restored at the Congress of Vienna. In the 1900's, the Dutch had conquered the profitable parts and the empire was steadily expanded to include all of what is now Indonesia by World War One. However, their founding of schools for the natives led to the rise of an educated elite eager for independence.

Recorded mintage: 30,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 1.25 g, .720 fine silver, 15 mm diameter.
