The county of Musso, on the east bank of Lago Como, lies in the duchy of Milan. The count Gian Giacomo, brother of pope Pius IV, set himself up there as a robber baron in the 1520's before being defeated and deposed by his neighbors. He managed to issue a few coins during his ascendancy, including some gold. All are rare today. This quattrino was four denari.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper, the first specimen 0.92 g, the second specimen 0.83 g.

Catalog reference: the first specimen MIR 790, the second specimen MIR 791.
