The first specimen was part of lot 28185 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), which sold for $282. The catalog description[1] noted, "Half Dozen Coins, Tokens and a Medal, Each grading approximately EF or EF+ are: ...20 Centavos 1941 and 10 Centavos 1936.... Quality is likely typical, attributions of the tokens is tentative. From The Dana Roberts Collection and Study Group." This issue minted in Lisbon for the Portuguese colony of Mozambique, is one of a type struck 1936 only. The coin is not common. In the mid-1960's, nationalists in Mozambique began their agitation for independence, triggering a multifactional war that continued after the Portuguese withdrew in 1975.
