This specimen was lot 6224 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $___. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Chihuahua. 8 Reales, 1891-MM. Lightly toned, sharply struck. CHOICE BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The Chihuahua mint struck eight reales 1831-95. Many of the early dates are rare but this one is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 2,268,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
