The first specimen was lot 2837 in Goldberg sale 78 (Los Angeles, January 2014), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 5 Pesos, 1883-Zs S. Republic. Scales and Liberty cap. Reverse: Eagle. NGC graded MS-62." This type was struck at the Zacatecas mint 1874-75, 1877-78, 1883, 1888-89 and 1892.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 8.46 g, .875 fine gold, .238 troy oz AGW.
