This specimen was lot 2318 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $30. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 8 Reales, 1870-Ga IC. PCGS graded Very Fine Detail (Chop Mark)." This is the last of a run of scarce dates (1867-70). The next issue was the 1873-IC; the balance scale peso was minted in 1870-73.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
