Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 334

This specimen was lot 334 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £100 (about US$155 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 1 real, Guadalajara mint, 1850 JG, probably 1850/49, a few marks, only very good, very rare." The Guadalajara mint struck one reales nearly continuously 1826-62. The SCWC mentions no overdate for this year.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a very scarce date.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.098 troy oz ASW.
