Secure Holder. Die number 84. Rich gold luster. Ex: Douro Cargo." This bust was used on the sovereign, or one pound coin, 1838-64 with a slightly modified type (KM 736.2) extending until 1874. This date is common. All issues of this date bear die numbers.

This specimen was lot 40159 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $999. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 1870. PCGS MS-63. Secure Holder.
