This specimen was lot 4061 in Sincona sale 51 (Zurich, October 2018), where it sold for 3,500 CHF (about US$4,222 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Geneva, Savoyen, Münzstätte Cornavin, Herzog Carlo II. 1504-1553. Bianco o. J. Von grösster Seltenheit. Gutes sehr schön. (city and canton of Geneva, Cornavin mint, duke Charles II of Savoy, 1504-53, undated bianco. Of the highest rarity, Good very fine.)"
Charles II was dule of Savoy 1504-53 altho he spent most of the latter half of his reign in exile while the French occupied his domain. In 1534-35, he beseiged Geneva in an attempt to quell disturbances there but failed to take the city. Cornavin is now the site of a railroad station in downtown Geneva but was probably outside the walls in the sixteenth century.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver or billon, this specimen 2.49 g.

Catalog reference: HMZ 1-386a.
