Furstenberg 1790 thaler Dav-2271
This specimen was lot 639 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description noted, "GERMANY. Furstenberg-Stuhlingen. Taler, 1790. NGC AU-58. RARE. Traces of adjustment marks. Translucent amber tone with much luster showing through. Terrific reverse view of the mines. Great eye appeal." Furstenberg was an insignificant county wedged between Baden and Wurttemberg. This type is very rare.
