Sincona sale 11, lot 867
This specimen was lot 867 in Sincona sale 11 (Zurich, May 2013), where it sold for 1,700 CHF (about US$2,105 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Frankfurt am Main, Stadt Doppeldukat 1790. Auf die Wahl Leopolds II. zum König. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, double ducat of 1790, on the coronation of Leopold II as king. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
Tho rare and expensive, this issue is less so than other double ducats from this locale.
