This issue, from the Paris mint, is from a type struck 1871-95 during the Third Republic of France. This date is common in circulated condition. Le Franc reports a large mintmark (rare) and small mintmark (fairly common) variety for this date.

Recorded mintage: 9,852,826[2].

Specification: 5 g, .900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, reeded edge.
