Jean Elsen sale 125, lot 1810
This specimen was lot 1810 in Jean Elsen sale 125 (Brussels, June 2015), where it sold for €110 (about US$146 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Louis XVIII, seconde restauration (1815-1824), AR 5 francs, 1824#K, Bordeaux. Très Beau à Superbe. (France, Louis XVIII, second restoration (1815-24), silver five francs of 1824, Bordeaux mint, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1816-24 in large quantities (104 million total). This specimen, from the Bordeaux mint, is a somewhat scarce date.

Recorded mintage: 1,009,011.

Specification: 25 g, .900 fine silver, 37 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM. Designed by Auguste François Michaut, 1786-1879.
