It was from a recent William Rosenblum sale (Littlton, CO, February 2012), where it sold for $240. Droulers<sup>[1]</sup> prices this date about 80% more than the common [[France 1655-A 1/2 ecu|1655-A]]. The Angers mint closed in 1661.

The specimen shown is a demi-écu à la mèche longue struck at Angers during the reign of Louis XIV. It was from a recent William Rosenblum sale (Littlton, CO, February 2012), where it sold for $240. Droulers[1] prices this date about 80% more than the common 1655-A. The Angers mint closed in 1661.

Specification: 13.72 g, .917 fine silver, 31-32 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Jean Warin.
