This specimen was lot 20177 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "FRANCE. Ecu d'Or, ND (1515-47). Nantes Mint. Francis I. NGC MS-62. Fr-364; Dupl-790. "écu d'or au soleil de Bretagne, deuxiéme type" struck at Nantes for François I. Struck on a nice round flan with a few weak spots but full legends on both sides. Soft satin luster and quite good eye appeal."
