This specimen was lot 4020 in Sincona sale 51 (Zurich, October 2018), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,689 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Reichsmünzstätte Basel, Halbdukat o. J. (um 1770). Stempel von Johann Ulrich Samson. Basilisk mit ovalem Stadtwappen, darunter Signatur S. Rv. Wertangabe mit Schrift im Fünfpass. 1.68 g. D.T. 491. HMZ 2-96a. Fr-49. Sehr selten. Gutes sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler und Henkelspur. (imperial city of Basel, undated half ducat, dies by John Ulrich Samson. Obverse: basilisk with oval city arms, "S" below; reverse: value in five line inscription. Very rare, Good very fine, Flan defect and minor mount mark.)"

KM 176, attributed to 1780. 1.75 g, .986 fine gold. VF $1,350.
