This note was lot 6661 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $3,335. The catalog description noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 100 Pounds, 29.9.1936. P-339b. This immaculate Liverpool 100 Pounds note is one which collectors will admire as the paper is perfectly white and original. The note shows deep black inks and a vivid watermark. Signed by K.O. Peppiatt. UNCIRCULATED."
This specimen was lot 3089 in Ponterio sale 158 (New York, January 2011), where it sold for $___. The catalog description noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Bank of England. 5 Pounds, ND (1957-67). P-371. A stunning note with pack fresh quality and lovely inks throughout. Consecutive to the next lot. Gem Uncirculated." A classic "fiver" from the Fifties.
