This note was lot 6661 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $3,335. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 100 Pounds, 29.9.1936. P-339b. This specimen was lot 3089 in Ponterio sale 158 (New York, January 2011), where it did not sell. The catalog description[2] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Bank of England. 5 Pounds, ND (1957-67). P-371. A stunning note with pack fresh quality and lovely inks throughout. Consecutive to the next lot. Gem Uncirculated." A classic "fiver" from the Fifties.
