Colombia 1852-B 1/2 real
This specimen was lot 1461 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $393.25. The catalog description noted, "COLOMBIA, Republica de Nueva Granada. 1830-1859. AR 1/2 Real. Bogotá mint. Dated 1852/1. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65. Gem UNC over matte moderately toned surfaces. Only one of this date graded and in superb gem condition. Purchased from Louis Collins, July 1973." This type is recorded for 1850-53 from Bogota only and is supposedly common. This date is not priced in uncirculated but this specimen realized six times the catalog value in XF, even counting the premium for the overdate.
