This specimen was lot 42416 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1841-RS 8 Reales. Bogotá mint. MS-61 (PCGS). Lustrous dark gray surfaces show a multitude of pastel and earthen highlights, from gold to rose to light blue. Frosty and very attractive. Scattered marks are noted, most notably at the central reverse. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck 1839-46 at Bogotá only. It was replaced in 1847 by KM 106 which weighed only 20 grams. In this period, Popayán was busy striking gold pesos.
