This specimen was lot 44117 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1/2 Real, 1840-RU. Popayan Mint. AU Detail--Cleaned (PCGS). Full details, untoned. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck at Bogota and Popayan 1838-48.
