Sincona sale 43, lot 3581
This specimen was lot 3581 in Sincona sale 43 (Zurich, October 2017), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,014 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KOLOMBIEN, Carlos III. 1759-1788 4 Escudos 1762. J-Popayan. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Kleine Kratzer. NGC XF Details. (Colombia, Chalres III, 1759-88, four escudos of 1762, Popayan mint, Very fine-extremely fine. Small scratches)"
This type was struck at Popayán 1760-62 and 1769 but never at Bogotá.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, .917 fine gold, .399 troy oz AGW.
