This specimen was lot 1460 in the Eliasberg sale, where it sold for $977.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "1758 J 2 escudos. Popayan mint. AU-50 (NGC). Types as above. Lustrous light yellow gold. Trivial rim nicks are noted. Purchased from Watkins Coin Company, July 1943."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, .917 fine gold, .200 troy oz AGW. This specimen: 6.70 grams, 23.40 mm diameter.
