This specimen was lot 1846 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $540.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Chile. 50 Pesos, 1968 Choice Brilliant Proof. General Bernardo O'Higgins. Choice Brilliant Proof." This commemorative honoring the 150th anniversary of independence was struck only in proof.

Recorded mintage: 2,515 proofs.

Specification: 10.17 g, .900 fine gold, .2943 troy oz AGW.
