Chile 1910 peso

The specimen shown is a type struck in Chile 1910 only. It is the second (but not the last) reduction in size from the full-size pesos of the 1890's. The next type, issued 1915 and 1917, was only 9 grams, .720 fine silver. Oscar Roty's defiant condor, first used in 1895, appeared on virtually all Chilean silver and copper-nickel coins until 1940.
