Sincona sale 38, lot 1054
This specimen was lot 1054 in Sincona sale 38 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for __ CHF (about US$___ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Carlos IV. 1788-1808 1 Escudo 1797. Potosi Sehr schön. Kleine Kratzer. (Bolivia, Charles IV, 1788-1808, one escudo of 1797, Potosi mint. Very fine, Minor scratches.)"
This type is very scarce as is most colonial gold from Bolivia. Some of the later dates have recorded mintages under a thousand.

Specification: 3.38 g, .875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.35 g.
