This specimen was lot 34206 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bern. City 1/2 Taler 1797 MS64+ PCGS, Deeply toned with exceptional underlying luster and a great strike. Only surpassed in grade by a single example at PCGS. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This type is listed for 1796-97 along with KM 161 and a quarter thaler (KM 160) and a thaler (KM 149, Dav-1759).
