Künker sale 335, lot 4688
This specimen was lot 4688 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €6,000 (about US$7,852 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. Leopold I. 1657-1705. Reichstaler 1659, Wien. RR Hübsche Patina, winz. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1705, thaler of 1659, Vienna mint. Rare, handsome patina, edge defect, extremely fine.)"
This one year type is one of the first thalers minted for Leopold I.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
