The first specimen was lot 2286 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "Australia. 25 Dollars, 2009-P. Elizabeth II. Sovereign. 2500 minted. PCGS graded Gem Proof Deep Cameo 'First Strike'." The second specimen was lot 32473 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[2] noted, "Elizabeth II gold Proof 'First Year of Issue' 25 Dollars 2009-P Gem DCAM PCGS, Perth mint. Soft satin devices juxtaposed against virtually flawless mirrored fields." Since 1989, Australia has entered the bullion and collectibles market in a big way, having produced commemoratives and NCLT's numbering in the hundreds of types. This issue is listed for 2009-12.

Recorded mintage: 2,500.

Specification: 7.99 g, .916 fine gold, 0.2354 troy oz AGW, 22.6 mm diameter.
