This specimen was lot 23066 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Edward VII 1910 Florin, KM21, AU55 NGC, no unreasonable marks, frosted and with light wear on the beard that one would expect for the grade. From The Ted Reams Collection." This type was struck 1910 only at London. This issue must have been saved as it is more available than subsequent dates prior to the late twenties, especially in nice condition. The mints already open in Australia, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, were not used to strike Australian coins until 1916. Australia maintained the sterling silver standard until 1945, years after Great Britain had debased her coins to .500 fine.

Recorded mintage: 1,259,000.

Specification: 11.31 g, .925 fine silver, .336 troy oz ASW, designed by W. H. J. Blakemore.

Catalog reference: KM 27.
